Infiltration from Pak continues: General

Kapurthala,
The Pakistan emergency has had no effect on infiltration of militants in the trouble-torn Jammu and Kashmir. It is continuing as earlier.

Lieut-Gen Amarjit Singh Sekhon, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 15 Corps, stated this while talking to a section of mediapersons at Sainik School here today. An alumnus of Sainik School, Sekhon came here to attend the 47th Old Boys Association Meet.

He said the exact impact of Pak emergency on infiltration would be felt only after a couple of months.

The Lieut-General said, “Militant camps across border are still intact, if Pakistan decides to force militants to close their camps near Indian border, infiltration may increase in the times to come.”

Sekhon, who is joining his new post as Director-General Military Operations (DGMO) in New Delhi on November 27, said most of the allegations of human rights violations against Armymen were found to be fictitious.
